Afro-Puerto Rican music educator and Children's book co-author, José Antonio Diaz, is the founder and Artistic Director of U.S.A.'s top music performance and business program for minority students, the Diaz Music Institute 501C3. His contributions to the field of music education and for helping Latino and African American kids graduate and succeed in music careers have earned him a GRAMMY Nomination for Best Music Educator, a Country Music Association Music Teacher of Excellence award, a John LaPorta Jazz Educator of the Year award, a Jefferson Award for Public Service award, a Creative Child's Book of the Year award, and he was inducted into the Down Beat Magazine Jazz Education Hall of Fame. Mr. Diaz is the manager of Children's music vocalist Joey Diaz and served as a recording engineer for "Colores en Mi Mente."
