The 12-year old son of acclaimed bassist Juan Maldonado, Adrian Maldonado is regarded as one of the Latin music industry's drum prodigies who is quickly building his credentials with artists such as José V and Alex Acuña. Tastefully, Adrian plays the Cuban drum patterns of Timba and Songo on "Colores en Mi Mente" as a way of tipping the hat to some of Latin music's pioneers of 'ritmo' (rhythm), specifically Jose Luis "Changuito" Quintana and Jimmy Branly.
